Recorded at The Planetarium – a Nashville studio that has hosted the likes of Ben Rector, Josh Dorr, and Tony Anderson – “Good Life” was produced and engineered by Thomas Dulin (Ben Rector, Ingrid Andress, Drew Holcomb). The track featured members of Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, including Nate Dugger (guitars and pedal steel), Rich Brinsfield (bass) and Will Sayles (drums).

The “Good Life” video, produced by Seth and Jenna Herlich of Wonder Film Co., features a loving family bonding over games and playing outside. While watching the children play, the duo harmonizes and reminisces of the life they have together; “Maybe we got the good life / Maybe we played our cards right / Maybe our lucky stars shine / So bright baby for you and I.”

“The reason this song is so important to us is because we’ve been in that place so many times- waiting for the next thing, the next season, the next accomplishment. We realized that “the good life” is in the moments in between all the wishing and waiting,” says one-half of Suitcase Souls, Kyle Pruzina. “It’s found in the moments when you’re appreciating the people in your life and spending time with them, chasing kids around – we’re looking forward to that ourselves – and saying out loud to people that you love that you care about them. That’s the heart of the song for us.”

Marci Pruzina offered her thoughts on the song’s meaning, “This song is kind of a reminder to ourselves- what we do have in front of us, that’s what’s important. To spend less time counting the blessings we’re waiting for and naming one-by-one the people we have in our lives that we’re thankful for.”

This powerhouse duo also hosts Nashville’s monthly event series called Good Life Nashville (@goodlifenashville), and are launching their first full-day music festival in partnership with Mark Mulch (songwriter, producer), owner of 12 South Farmers Market, this September 18, called Good Life Music Festival. The festival will showcase local musicians, food vendors and artisans from across the city with People Loving Nashville as the featured non-profit.

“Good Life” song and visualizer are scheduled to premiere on August 19 at 8 pm CST. Follow Suitcase Souls on social media to stay updated on upcoming releases and shows.

About Suitcase Souls

Based in Nashville, TN, Suitcase Souls are an Americana/Pop duo composed of husband-and-wife Kyle and Marci Pruzina. Writing all the material from their recent album based around the early days of their own love story, the duo released their first LP in 2021 ranging from uptempo, driving Americana-rock songs to vibey love ballads perfect for a wedding first dance. With an electrifying full-band live show paired with tight harmonies reminiscent of a “happier Civil Wars” mixed with a “less-country Dan+Shay,” their sound likens to the singer-songwriter styles of artists such as Mumford & Sons, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, and The Lumineers. They also find inspiration from duo acts such as Johnnyswim, Mandolin Orange and The Civil Wars.
