SEEKING GRAVITY RELEASES HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW SINGLE “NARCOTIZED”

LISTEN TO “NARCOTIZED” HERE

NOVEMBER 18, 2022 – After building immense anticipation following the release of their debut self-titled album, Seeking Gravity is back with a brand new single.

‘Narcotized’ is a confessional song that recognizes the reality that we all have coping mechanisms we use to manage our suffering in life. Some of

these mechanisms can be healthier than others, but perhaps the best thing would be allowing ourselves to feel everything, no matter how difficult.

Sobriety is not for the weak. Recovery is an attempt to stop numbing the pain with unhealthy and negative choices in order to truly live again.

Continually attempting to numb yourself with the wrong things, will eventually also destroy the positive and robs us of our humanity.

“We hope this song may inspire courage to face life head on and to experience every moment for what it is. May the bravery of feeling our emotions help strengthen and fortify our humanity as we refuse to be part of the walking dead amongst us,” says Kyle, the band’s lead singer and guitarist.

Seeking Gravity began in the fall of 2018 as a 90’s alternative cover band called Squirrel Jam, that quickly gained local notoriety. During 2020, the band became more focused on the artistic expression of their original music.

While it was fun playing covers that the members had grown up listening to, they realized that they came alive as a band in new and exciting ways when they played their original music. Their songs have the same rock vibe that they loved growing up, but their lyrics have a depth that points to universal truths while sharing personal experiences. They chose the name Seeking Gravity based on some of their lyrics, and notably that this musical chapter is something they were ready to take more seriously.

Brief Bio:

Seeking Gravity began in the fall of 2018 as a 90s alternative cover band called Squirrel Jam, which quickly gained local notoriety. They played some original songs that Kyle, the lead singer and guitarist, wrote and shared with the band, but once Covid 19 hit and halted the live music scene, the band became more focused on the artistic expression of their original music.

It was fun playing covers that the band had grown up listening to, but they realized that they came alive as a band in new and exciting ways when they started playing our own music. Their songs have the same rock vibe that they loved, but with some depth in the lyrics that pointed to universal truths as well as personal experiences of finding depth and meaning in life. They chose the name Seeking Gravity based on some of their lyrics, and notably that this project was something they were taking more seriously. It had more gravitas than the fun and games of Squirrel Jam.

Seeking Gravity’s first album is a deep dive into how they have grown and changed, recognizing the mysterious paradox that often growth is accompanied by loss and grief. Seeking Gravity is about finding the real in life, wanting to experience the present moment, finding depth in genuine relationships, struggling through the hardships of life, and longing to stay grounded through it all. Ultimately, it is a testimony to the human experience.

Seeking Gravity’s hope for this album is that it inspires people to ask more questions, stay curious and open, to see how even the worst things in your life might bring growth, to ponder the deeper questions about life and death, and end up seeing that this life is beautiful and full of magic all around. Also, for those who don’t give a flip about the lyrics and deep meaning and all that, they are able to enjoy some good alt/rock/pop/punk vibes.
