2021 proved to be a chance for resurgence in Rī Wolf’s music career. After spending the last 14 years as a collegiate track and field coach in Texas and almost 9 years away from music, Rī Wolf is bursting back into the music scene with a Grass Roots Americana sound reminiscent of a West Texas Troubadour making his way back home. Rī is returning with a sound that’s rooted in great songwriting, unforgettable melodies and rugged authenticity. With an acoustic guitar driven mix of country, soul, blues and rock, Rī brings these elements together for a unique, but familiar sound laced with stories true and familiar to those who call Texas and the Great Plains home.
Rī’s debut radio single “Hurricane” launched in February 2022 and will be one of a new 14 song album titled “Elemental”, set to be released in Spring 2022. “Hurricane” has already risen into the Texas Top 100 and is gaining momentum. “Hurricane” was written, arranged, and produced by Wolf in his home studio in late 2021. Wolf brought in the talents of Carmen Bruno, who fronts the emerging Americana band Trailerhawk, to sing background vocals. Wolf also included the talents of Bryan Daste on the pedal steel guitar.
“Hurricane” is one of many collaborations on Wolf’s upcoming album, including 3 songs with famed blues guitarist Justin Johnson as well as 3 songs including fiddle player Kyleen King (Brandi Carlile). Finally, a previously released collab with up-and-coming singer-songwriter Sophie Dorsten with “Desert Marigold”.
