“Paige is the sunshine of country music, always bringing her infectious energy to her original music and to the stage!” Nicole Rayy.
Today, Ontario country singer / songwriter, Paige Rutledge releases her latest single “Drinking Alone” to streaming platforms everywhere.
Drinking Alone takes the concept of a classic country drinking song and adds a contemporary twist. I met my two co-writers, Spencer Jordan and Jack Book, by accident one night at Red Door in Nashville. We ended up chatting at the bar and decided to bounce around listening to live music all night, and at the end of the night decided to write the next day. It was very spontaneous how Drinking Alone was born.
We wanted to write a drinking song that everybody can relate to and just feels good while listening to it. We started talking about our favourite bars and how certain places just create a sense of home and through that conversation, we were able to find unique melodies and captivating lyrics to tell the story of going out to your local bar where everybody knows everybody in a modern way.
In the recording process, we wanted to take a more pop country approach. We experimented with more electronic and pop elements while still keeping a country feel in the production. It was very important to use that while we pushed a more pop country song, that it still had country influences so that both country music lovers and pop music lovers could find elements of the song that resonated with them.
It’s funny how this song came to be by just having a friendly conversation at the bar, to creating new friends- directly reflecting the lyrics and concept of the song.

“I’ve been following Paige’s career for a few years now and after seeing her perform at the 2021 Harmoniafest I asked her to join the lineup for our 2022 SCE Summer Jam as a co-headliner.
