Texas Rattlers, Austin Gamblers and Florida Freedom also record wins on opening night of PBR Teams: Anaheim gameplay inside the Honda Center
ANAHEIM, Calif. – At the second neutral-site PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series event of the season in Anaheim, California, the Carolina Cowboys (14-4) continued to lead the standings but were unceremoniously defeated by the Oklahoma Wildcatters (8-11), 336-87.25.
As the game began, Eduardo Matos fired out of the chutes on Hit or Miss, putting the Wildcatters on the board first with his 85.5-point score and improving him to 13-for-21 for the season.
Red flags lofted in the air at the bottom of the frame after Cort McFadden rode Hell Bent, giving Oklahoma a re-ride.
As Carolina powerhouse and 2022 World Champion Daylon Swearingen was dispatched in the penultimate frame, Tate Pollmeier, who joined the Oklahoma team earlier in the week, collected a less-than-ideal 79.25 points. Coach J.B. Mauney kept the score, knowing the incremental boost would help in the end game.
McFadden, who was matched with Little Tex for his re-ride, sailed through the air, earning an 87.25-point score that put his team 164.75 points in the lead. The ride marked his third consecutive qualified ride and clinched the Wildcatters their eighth victory. Austin Richardson followed shortly after with an 84-point punctuation to the night.
The win allowed Oklahoma to climb from No. 8 to No. 6 in the league, now 1-0 in California and 8-11 throughout 2024.
When the dust settled between the Texas Rattlers and New York Mavericks, Texas won by 262.5 points, knocking off New York 349.25-86.75. Via the win, Texas improved to 10-9 this season, holding strong at No. 3 in the league and coming just shy of recording the fifth perfect game in league history.
The Austin Gamblers celebrated a 252.5- 167.75 win against the Arizona Ridge Riders, allowing them to hold steady at No. 5 in the league. Now 1-0 in California, the Gamblers will look to continue their momentum when gameplay continues Saturday, Sept. 13, as they take on the No. 10-ranked Nashville Stampede.
In their second matchup of the season, the Florida Freedom defeated the Missouri Thunder 266-167.75. The win allowed Florida to hang tight to the No. 4 spot in the league, now 1-0 in California and 10-9 throughout 2024.
The evening then concluded with the Shoot Out Round, featuring one rider from each of the night’s winning teams. Despite a valiant 88.75-point ride aboard July, Oklahoma’s Tate Pollmeier was no match for the monster 90.5-point ride on Firewater turned in by the Texas Rattlers’ man Brady Fielder.

SCORE BULLETINS
Texas Rattlers Defeat New York Mavericks by Landslide on Opening Night of PBR Teams: Anaheim
Texas Rattlers: 349.29
New York Mavericks: 86.75
ANAHEIM, Calif. – As the second neutral-site PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series event of the 2024 season got underway Friday night in Anaheim, California, the Texas Rattlers’ championship form was on full display as they beat the New York Mavericks by a landslide, 349.25-86.75, inside the Honda Center. The reigning champs have now won eight of their last 10 games. In the top of the first, Brady Fielder had a little trouble in the chutes getting seated aboard Twisted Oak, so New York’s Hudson Bolton took the first out as Fielder waited for a new bull. Unable to convert aboard Joy’s Bang Bang, New York stumbled as Bolton hit the ground in 6.15 seconds. Texas then turned to Daniel Keeping to give them their first score. Answering the call for his team, Keeping rode Oyster Creek Brawler for 87 points. Eager to rebound, Leonardo Castro took on Off the Tracks for the Mavericks. Despite nodding with confidence, Castro was hurled to the ground in 2.22 seconds but was given a re-ride. Texas’s momentum continued in the top of the third as Claudio Montanha Jr. effortlessly sailed to the buzzer aboard Pistola for 83.75 points, increasing their lead to 170.75 points. Fielder, taking his re-ride from the first frame, then continued the hot streak aboard Watch Out for 89 points, his fourth consecutive qualified ride and 13th of the season. Out next for the Mavericks in the bottom of the third was Davi Henrique de Lima. Red flags flew as judges awarded yet another re-ride. Qynn Anderson then blew out of the chutes on Bambino in the top of the fourth, but again, flags sailed through the air, marking the fourth re-ride of the night thus far. Newly signed Maverick Mason Taylor stood on the back of the chutes, ready for his pairing with Cut Bait as his former team looked on. But to the dismay of fans inside of the arena, he was unseated just short of the buzzer at 6.27 seconds. Taking his re-ride matched with the resilient Ricky Vaughn, New York’s Castro was seemingly in control. Just shy of the buzzer, he was thrashed to the ground at 7.66 seconds. The Rattlers kept their score climbing as Joao Ricardo Vieira, who has ridden four of his last five bulls, shot through the air on Shot in the Dark for 89.5 points. Knowing the game had already gone to their opponent, the Mavericks kept their focus as typical closer Mauricio Moreira and Pay Dirt fired out of the chutes. His 86.75 points put the Mavericks on the board for a small piece of redemption. Taking the final ride for Texas as the replacement for Anderson, Marcelo Procopio was unable to convert. Had he made the 8, Texas would have secured the fifth perfect game in league history. Despite a challenge from Coach Cody Lambert, it was deemed a no score. Lima quickly followed, hitting the dirt at 4.35 seconds. When the dust settled, Texas won by 262.5 points, knocking off New York 349.25-86.75. Via the win, Texas improved to 10-9 this season, holding strong at No. 3 in the league. They are next slated to take on the Florida Freedom when gameplay continues from Anaheim on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Mavericks, who slipped from No. 6 to No. 7 in the standings, now 0-1 in Anaheim and 8-11 in 2024, will look to rebound against the Oklahoma Wildcatters.
Austin Gamblers Log Tenth Win of 2024 Season with Victory Against the Arizona Ridge Riders on Opening Night of PBR Camping World Team Series Action in Anaheim, California
Austin Gamblers: 252.5
Arizona Ridge Riders: 167.75
ANAHEIM, Calif. – The two-time regular-season PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Camping World Team Series Champion Austin Gamblers regained their title-contending form Friday evening in Anaheim, California, logging their tenth game win of the 2024 season as they beat the Arizona Ridge Riders by three ride scores, 252.5-167.75. The opening frame saw one up and one down for both teams as Austin’s Kaique Pacheco and Arizona’s Nick Tetz were both dispatched. In the top of the second, the Gamblers matched Callum Miller with Manaba. While Miller burst from the chutes centered, he was quickly unseated, hitting the ground in 4.21 seconds, with the scoreboard remaining unchanged. Arizona’s Eduardo Aparecido answered the call to put his team in the lead in the bottom of the second frame with an 81-point score aboard TFB Ranch Crackin’ Back. With the successful ride on the opening night in Anaheim, Aparecido is now 11-for-20 on the season. In the top of the third, Ramon de Lima covered Preston’s Pistol for the Gamblers. His qualified ride was marked 86 points to take a slight lead over the Ridge Riders. In the bottom of the frame, Arizona suffered their second buckoff of the night as Bruno Carvalho hit the ground at the 6.03-second mark atop Lil’ Troy. In the top of the fourth, Austin had the chance to hit the gas and accelerate their lead. The potentially scoreboard-advancing moment was left to Lucas Divino on Top Knot. After a crowd-hushing moment where Divino’s hand was momentarily caught in his bull rope, judges reviewed and offered a re-ride. Austin decided that Guilherme Valleiras would suit up, and he delivered a 77-point ride. In the bottom of the fourth, Luciano De Castro, was in a must-ride position as he settled in aboard Flapjack. After diligent preparations in the chutes, Castro nodded, and while he matched the initial jumps by his animal athlete counterpart, he came down in 6.38 seconds, clinching the win for the Gamblers. With the win in hand, Gamblers closer and two-time PBR Teams MVP Jose Vitor Leme shockingly hit the ground just short of the 8, moving his season record to 13-for-16. The five-on-five showdown then concluded with Keyshawn Whitehorse on Red Dirt for the Ridge Riders. Despite Whitehorse’s 86.75-point score, Arizona fell to Austin. As both teams returned to the locker room, Austin celebrated a 252.5-167.75 win against Arizona, allowing them to hold steady at No. 5 in the league. Now 1-0 in California, the Gamblers will look to continue their momentum when gameplay continues Saturday, Sept. 13, as they take on the Nashville Stampede. The No. 9-ranked Arizona Ridge Riders, 0-1 inside the Honda Center and 7-12 in 2024, will battle the Kansas City Outlaws on the second night of the first neutral-site event.

In events staged in a tournament-style format, all teams compete in head-to-head matchups against a different opponent each day. Each game features five riders per team squaring off against another team. Full team rosters are comprised of seven riders on the Protected Roster and five Reserve riders. The team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders is declared the winner of each game. All PBR Teams events are carried on either the CBS Television Network, streaming live on Paramount+, or Merit Street Media.
