NOW AVAILABLE: WILL CARTER’S “WRONG SIDE OF TOWN” SINGLE

Wrong Side of the Town Album
Four-time Songwriter of the Year winner at the Texas Country Music Awards, Will Carter has released his new single “Wrong Side of Town”, now available at https://orcd.co/wrongsideoftown. Produced by Derek Hames, “Wrong Side of Town” has been a fan favorite since Will introduced this Jude Dyllan penned track into his live set.

The song is a crowd favorite that we’ve been playing live for seven years,” says Will. “Our fans, label, and radio have been asking for the song because we get such a great response live. So, we decided to record it the old-school way and bring the band into the studio. We teamed up with Edgewater Studios in Sugar Land, Texas, using our band. The song is about a boy who has fallen in love with a girl from the ‘other side of the tracks,’ a classic tale of love across economic lines. ‘Wrong Side of Town’ was recorded with no studio musicians, no tracks, just real and raw.”

“Wrong Side of Town” premiered exclusively on Roughstock. “Wrong Side of Town’ has a distinctly country sound which has hints of the late 90s and early 2000s song structure to it. While that could sink some songs, it’s a strength of ‘Wrong Side of Town’… [WSOT] hits all the right notes.” – Matt Bjorke, Roughstock. View the exclusive premiere by clicking here.
The single also debuted on the official Academy of Country Music‘s New Music Friday Playlist alongside Lauren Alaina, Jimmie Allen, Lee Brice, Easton Corbin, Ronnie Dunn, Brett Eldredge, Eli Young Band, Tyler Hubbard, Chris Lane, LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Wynonna & Chris Young. Fans can stream the playlist at https://smarturl.it/ACMNewMusicFriday.

Will is currently touring the vast state of Texas in support of the single, performing over 20 shows that will culminate with a show at the Fort Worth Stockyards for the annual Texas Country Music Association’s Texas Country Music Showdown on November 12, a kick-off event for the annual awards show held the following day.

About Will Carter

Will Carter is a country singer and songwriter from Katy, Texas, whose talent and commitment have earned him over a dozen singles on the Texas music charts. Three of these songs have crossed successfully over to Nashville’s Music Row Chart, extending his fanbase nationwide. For the last four consecutive years, Carter has been nominated for “Male Vocalist of the Year” and awarded “Songwriter of the Year” at the Texas Country Music Association Awards.

Texas-born and bred, Will Carter was raised on his family’s humble farm with a day-and-night work regimen. It’s on this rural homestead where he learned to respect hard work and traditional values as he and the neighboring farming families proudly earned their living while towing the poverty line. This environment provided Will with a gateway to country music. He began singing at age three, and by age ten, he had his first guitar.

With the last name Carter, there is no doubt that he was destined to channel the founding family of country music and find a fire for storytelling-infused songwriting. An even more intimate relationship with music developed when Carter was a teenager. When his father became severely ill, he created a playlist of his father’s favorite songs to share with his dad, providing both with renewed comfort and joy. Carter recorded the songs and sold the same playlist on CD to help raise money for his family, which, in turn, landed him on the Debra Duncan television show when he was just 13. These songs were played for his father every day until he passed. The peace, comfort, and inspiration made possible thru heartfelt lyrics and simple melody continue to guide Carter’s songwriting, consistently landing Top 20 singles on the Texas charts. His first release in 2022, “Wrong Side of Town,” is available now.

Carter has been actively touring with his band, performing over 150 shows a year. Will’s high-energy performances offer a country music tour de force that appeals to music fans of all ages. He has opened for Cody Johnson, Randy Rogers, Bart Crow, Jack Ingram, Larry Gatlin, Saints Eleven, Josh Ward, Cody Canada, and others, and has been featured on podcasts such as The Troubadour, The Sports Guys, and Scenes Live. His catalog of music can be heard on radio stations nationally, with particularly heavy airplay in Texas and surrounding states. Be sure to catch the next Will Carter show when it comes to town!
