Hosted by Bowen, the live TV music series consists of thirteen half-hour episodes featuring Bowen performing live with his high-profile band and a weekly featured guest artist. “Jimmy Bowen & Friends is the music variety TV show I always dreamed of hosting – fast forward to Season 8 – and I am ecstatic about all we’ve accomplished since the launch of Season 1. ABOUT JIMMY BOWEN
Jimmy Bowen is a highly acclaimed musician, singer, and songwriter from Charlotte, N.C. He became involved in music by age five and has been creating music for over three decades, touring internationally with some of the most well-known names in Bluegrass music including Charlie Waller and the Country Gentlemen as well as David Parmley and the Continental Divide. He has had the opportunity to share the stage with country legends including Earl Thomas Conley, Eddy Raven, John Conlee, Josh Turner, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Mel Tillis, and has even had the privilege to perform at the White House for President George W. Bush, Sr. and at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. In October 2019, Bowen was inducted into the National Traditional Country Music Association’s America’s Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame, and in 2022 he received a Josie Award for Folk/Americana Artist of the Year.
Another of Bowen’s passions is acting. He has been cast for various television series, dramas, and commercials, all while working with some of the biggest names in TV including Michael Rooker (Days of Thunder), Adam Arkin (Chicago Hope), John Hawkes (The Perfect Storm with George Clooney), and Mary Steenburgen (Philadelphia). Bowen was also a featured actor in Toby Keith’s “Hope on the Rocks” video and the drama-filled ABC-TV hit series Nashville.
Bowen is set to release his next single, “Highway,” on April 5th. Bowen’s music can be found on all streaming platforms and digital outlets.
