Michele Osten Slips Smoothly into Spring with the Worldwide Release of Her New Single “One For My Baby” and Accompanying Video

Anglo-American NOT just jazz vocalist and band leader Michele Osten (micheleosten.com) announces the worldwide release of her NEW single and video, One For My BabyProduced by Alban Bouquette a native of Burgundy in France; this is a bittersweet tune about what transpires after a breakup. It marks Michele’s first cover of one of her all-time favourite jazz standards. Originally written and composed by Harold Arlen and John Mercer in 1943.

 

The song is now available on all major platforms for purchase. The accompanying video has been created by London based videographer Ben Henderson and link for this can be found under Notes to Editor below.

 

“I rekindled my love for singing later in life and found jazz discovered it to be my go-to niche. I have dabbled with most of the old standards but always return to perform One For My Baby as it hits me right in the heart every time I perform it.” recounts Michele. “I wouldn’t be sharing this song and video with the world without the support from the talented team I have had the honour of working together with my French friends and talented artists: Francois Perrin – Double Base, Philippe Rhulmann Piano, Alban Bouquette Producer and London based Ben Henderson Videographer”

 

This cover tune follows three original tunes recorded and independently released on all platforms as of September 2021, Ease Away Slowly, Easier and Easier and LazyDaze, which won a Bronze Medal in the Jazz Category of the Global Music Awards for 2023.

About Michele Osten 

 

A native to Seattle in the USA but now and for a long long time settled in London, Michele rediscovered her love of music and performing after a 20 year hiatus when she embarked on a vocal performance course in 2006 – and has been singing ever since. She regularly performs with her band, the NOT Just Jazz Band at venues around the UK. Notable appearances include the Verdi Italian Kitchen at the Royal Albert Hall, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Bulls Head and OSO Arts Centre in Barnes, The Pheasantry Pizza ExpressRose Theatre in Kingston and at the first ever FemmeFest in the stunningly beautiful Peak District and many other charity events and festivals. 

 

Michele was also principle singer for the Jazz Big Band at the Conservatoire in Burgundy, France for a number of years before returning to the UK. In fact, this is where she met the above mentioned musicians and producer involved in the recording of One For May Baby.
