NASHVILLE, TN – “Soldier’s Son” Matt Oakley commemorates military families in his new single, releasing September 13. The deeply personal track depicts a powerful narrative of love, sacrifice and resilience, capturing the essence of life in a military family. 

“When I sat down to write Soldier’s Son, I wanted to capture what it was like being in a military family, while also highlighting the sacrifices many have given for this country,” states Matt Oakley, whose dad served as an Army officer. “My dad served for 22 years, and so I felt starting the song personal to me and allowing the verses to be intimate about my life left room for the choruses to elaborate on the patriotism and gratitude for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This is a song I have dedicated to Gold Star families along with my own father.”

Life as a “Soldier’s Son” has prepared Matt Oakley for life on the road as a touring artist, where he has opened for Big & Rich, Bailey Zimmerman and more. Patriotism is woven into his career, as he’s performed AUSA events and military benefits including Patriots Fest in Chicago, IL.
