Divino rises from No. 5 to No. 2 in the world, inching within 77.5 points of No. 1 John Crimber
HOUSTON, Texas – Riding bulls better than any time in his career, Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil) delivered a perfect 3-for-3 performance punctuated by a 90-point championship-round ride to win his second PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast event of the season tonight at Michelob ULTRA PBR Houston, rising to No. 2 in the 2025 World Championship race.
Divino earned 133.5 points, surging from No. 5 to No. 2 in the gold buckle battle. He is now within 77.5 points of No. 1 John Crimber (Decatur, Texas).
“I just have to praise the Lord,” Divino said from the dirt inside Toyota Center moments after his win. “I was talking to my friends today. Seven years I’ve been competing here. God helped me seven years to put me in this spot. I don’t have the words to explain this.”
Divino, a standout from the 2024 Champion Austin Gamblers in the separate PBR Teams league who won the elite tour event two weeks ago at Madison Square Garden in New York City, first struck in Round 1 on Friday when he bested Mike’s Motive (Blake Sharp/High Voltage/Wetzel/Knott) for 87.75 points.
The affable Brazilian continued to ride red hot in Round 2 Saturday night, punching his ticket to the championship round as he outlasted Magic Hunter (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC) for 89.75 points.
Divino then sealed his second Unleash The Beast victory of the season with a monster 90-point ride, teaming with Ricky Vaughn (WinRock/D&H Cattle/Buck Cattle) for 90.25 points in the championship round.
Divino earned a check for $47,148.33 in addition to 133.5 Unleash The Beast points to move into the No. 2 position behind Crimber.
The Florida Freedom’s Crimber finished seventh inside Toyota Center, netting 30.5 Unleash The Beast points. He rode Mr. Right Now (Silent 7/Hilton Bull Co.) for 88 points in Round 1 and Gravedigger (Premier Livestock/Rafter KL) for 86.75 points in Round 2 but was bested by Yahoo (D&H Cattle Co./Buck Cattle Co.) in the final round, whipped down in 6.49 seconds.
Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) was second in Houston, netting 109.5 Unleash The Beast points.
Castro was one of 19 riders to convert in the opening round, topping Short Fire (Braun/Bucking M/BS Cattle) for 86.75 points.
The Arizona Ridge Rider caught fire on championship Saturday, delivering back-to-back monster scores. In Round 2, Castro rode Fire Zone (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC) for a commanding 90 points before dominating UTZ BesTex Smokestack (Blake Sharp/Chris Utz/Carey Brothers) for a mammoth 90.25 points in the final round.
Chasing his first World Championship this May, Castro rose from No. 17 to No. 8 in the standings, propelled within 227.5 points of No. 1 Crimber.
Third was the Texas Rattlers’ Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland, Australia).
Fresh off his win last weekend in Chicagoland, Fielder’s momentum continued to roll inside the home of the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Fieder advanced to the championship round courtesy of an 88.25-point ride on Lap Dancer (Flying S/Dozier Cattle Co.) in Round 1 and an 86.75-point effort aboard Hunting Trip (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell/Delmas/Williams).
As the last rider to leave the chutes, Fielder capitalized on a re-ride opportunity in the championship round, completing his flawless 3-for-3 outing in Houston with an 89.75-point ride on Electric Kitty (Moore Cattle/D&H Cattle Co.).
Fielder earned 78 Unleash The Beast points for the bronze effort, remaining No. 3 in the world. He is now 94.5 points back of No. 1 Crimber.
Adriano Salgado (Batatais, Brazil) was fourth.
The Carolina Cowboys roster member secured the finish via an 85.75-point ride on Quick Show (Young Cattle Co.) in Round 1, 87.5 points atop Let’s Roll (Stoltzfus/Bob & Jerry Adams/BS Cattle Co.) in Round 2, and an 89.25-point ride aboard Lights Out (Blake Sharp/Henry Wilson) in the championship round.
Collecting 56 Unleash The Beast points, Salgado rose from No. 20 to No. 17 in the standings.
Rounding out the Top 5 was the Austin Gamblers’ Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil).
As the final rider to cover all three of his bulls in Space City, Pacheco first converted atop Feeds Red River (Blake Sharp/Huff Bulls) for 84.5 points in Round 1 before topping Windmill (Blake Sharp) for 82.25 points in Round 2 and conquering Big Chili (Blake Sharp/Bull Mamas/UB Bucking Co.) for a monster 90.25 points in the final round.
The 2018 PBR World Champion earned 55 Unleash The Beast points, climbing from No. 32 to No. 24 in the standings.
For the first time this season, all 12 riders entered the championship round without being bucked off by a single bull during the weekend.
In the bull pen, Fast Flow (Matejka/Outlaw/Lone Star/AFCO) bucked supreme, crowned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event. Bucking in the championship round, the powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 46.5 points for his 5.09 seconds of work against the Arizona Ridge Riders’ Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Spring, Utah).
Cool Whip (Julian/Staci Addison/D&H/Crooked W) continued to make history, registering his unprecedented 48th consecutive elite tour buckoff – widening his all-time PBR record over Bushwacker (42). Bucking in the championship round, Cool Whip launched the Texas Rattlers’ Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas) in 3.2 seconds to earn a 45.25-point bull score.
The opening round of the event also featured an ABBI (American Bucking Bull Inc.) Classic competition, featuring 24 of the sport’s up-and-coming 4-year-old bovine athletes competing for $25,000 in prize money. Fast Flow again dominated, marked 89.2 points for his 1.88 seconds of work against the Texas Ratters’ Joao Ricardo Vieira (Itatinga, Brazil) winning the Houston Classic title and a check for $7,056.

During the inaugural year of competition for the PBR Team Series, the Carolina Cowboys concluded the regular-season fourth in the standings 15-13 in game play.
The Cowboys notably logged the first 90-point ride in the league’s history, achieved by Campbell when he covered Dr. Campbell for 90 points en route to the team’s win in their opening game against the Arizona Ridge Riders.
In addition to winning one regular-season event (Austin, Texas), they led the league in bonus points (69), and held the No. 1 position in the league for three consecutive weeks, first ascending to the top spot after going 2-1 and finishing second at the inaugural homestand.
At the inaugural PBR Team Series Championship in Las Vegas, the Carolina Cowboys delivered a strong performance in Round 1 before being eliminated on the second day of competition for the progressive elimination tournament.

About the Carolina Cowboys:
The Carolina Cowboys are based in Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., where the team will hold its second Cowboys Days homestand on September 22-24, 2023, the eighth event of the 10-event 2023 PBR Team Series regular season. The Cowboys are coached by PBR co-founder Jerome Davis. Under the leadership of General Manager Austin Dillon, the 2018 Daytona 500 Champion, the team is owned by Richard Childress and Jeff Broin. From a one-man team in 1969, Richard Childress grew Richard Childress Racing (RCR) into one of the most-respected organizations in NASCAR, with nearly 400 team members supporting full-time operations in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. As a car owner, Childress, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017, has earned more than 200 victories in NASCAR’s top-three national series, 16 championships, three Daytona 500 championships and three Brickyard 400 championships. Away from the track, Childress is a businessman, philanthropist and conservationist – he loves wine, the outdoors, supporting the military, and investing in America’s youth. Childress’ properties include the award-winning Childress Vineyards. He sits on the board of directors of Growth Energy and holds an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Northwestern Ohio. Entrepreneur and agriculturalist Broin is the founder and CEO of bioprocessing giant POET, the world’s largest biofuel producer. Broin and RCR have a longstanding partnership through NASCAR and worked together to upgrade the league to 15% bioethanol.
About the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series:
The PBR Team Series is an elite new league that features the world’s top bull riders competing on teams in five-on-five bull riding games during an 11-event season beginning in July and culminating in a team championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas November 4-6. During the 2022 season, each of the eight teams representing teams in Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Glendale, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Nashville, TN; Oklahoma City, OK; Ridgedale, MO; and Winston-Salem, NC will host a three-day homestand. There will also be neutral site games in Cheyenne, WY and Anaheim, CA. To determine team rosters, the league held a rider draft on May 23 prior to start of the 2022 season among any bull riders who have declared for the draft during a league eligibility window. The PBR Team Series builds on the existing structure of professional bull riding with the same basic rules for judging and scoring qualified 8-second bull rides. Events will be staged in a tournament-style format with all teams competing in head-to-head matchups against a different opponent each day. Each game will feature five riders per team squaring off against another team. Full team rosters will be comprised of seven riders on the core roster and three practice squad members. The team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders will be declared the winner of each game. The event winner will be the team with the most game wins across an event, with a special bonus round designed as a tie-breaker to determine final event standings. All PBR Team Series events will be carried on either the CBS Television Network, streaming live on Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, or RidePass on PlutoTV.
