Latest Song Drops Ahead of Debut Album Release
Country/Americana artist Katy Hurt is closing out the rollout of her hotly anticipated debut album with one more single. “Before The Ice Melts” arrives on April 18th, marking the eighth and final single from her upcoming record, “Gimme A Break”, which drops May 23rd.
“Saved the best for last” Hurt teases. Co-written with longtime collaborator Gab Zsapka and produced by Murray Pulver (The Bros. Landreth, Doc Walker). The track is about holding on to something broken just a little longer to delay the inevitable heartbreak and is a confession of weakness, choosing familiar bad habits over closure. Once again, showcasing Hurt’s signature blend of atmospheric Americana and lyrical vulnerability.
Recorded at Stereobus Recording in Winnipeg, “Before The Ice Melts” serves as a poignant final chapter before the full story of Gimme A Break is revealed – a project years in the making that has already earned Katy critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase across the UK and beyond.
Fresh off the soul stirring Seasons collaboration with Joey Landreth in January and the empowering March release of Rather Be, Katy has been taking 2025 by storm and clearly has no plans to slow down.
For fans of Lady A and Sheryl Crow, “Before The Ice Melts” delivers an unmistakable edge that continues to cement Katy’s place as one of the most exciting upcoming voices in modern country.
