Kate Harding Launches Kickstarter Campaign For Debut Single “Wallflower”

Following an emergency appendectomy in June, singer/songwriter and mother-of-one Kate Harding decided now was the time to fully pursue her dream of creating country music and to make that dream a reality, she has launched her Kickstarter campaign to allow her the opportunity to travel to Nashville to work with British producer Tyler Spicer on her debut single ‘Wallflower’.

Having moved around a lot during her non-music career, including living in a house share in Camden, London Kate Harding has made plenty of friends around the UK and now calls Portsmouth home where she lives with her partner and 6-year-old daughter. She has links to the country world through producers, and journalists and has the voice and lyrical ability needed to make it as an artist, so this Kickstarter campaign is a fantastic way for her to make inroads into the genre, whilst giving her some financial security.

So far £979 has been raised by Kate with her end goal of £2,800 to cover overheads of recording, mixing, mastering and travel to Nashville from the UK. The country music community is particularly supportive so Kate has a great chance of raising the funds she needs to bring her dream to fruition.

Speaking about the process of ‘Wallflower’, Kate says: “I never set out to write music. Though I did write quite a bit of poetry and songs in my teens. The melody and the words of the song came to me one day, during a car journey home on the M25, when I was alone, driving, and feeling incredibly frustrated. There wasn’t a process I can speak of. Other than having to pull over and record the audio of what I’d been singing”.

This is an exciting moment in the life and career of Kate Harding and one that promises to bring plenty of excitement and standout moments in 2024. This Kickstarter campaign is just the start of an incredible musical journey for the rising artist.
