AUSTIN, Texas – Propelled by three consecutive rides in the middle of the first game of the second day of competition at PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Gambler Days, the Kansas City Outlaws trounced the Missouri Thunder, 251 – 0.  After a scoreless first frame, the Outlaws’ Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana), by all appearances bucked off The Sauce (Blake Sharp/Henry Wilson), desperately held on for the final three seconds of his ride and was marked 77.5 points. With the Missouri Thunder unable to answer, the Outlaws continued their gritty performance as Kyler Oliver (Roy, Utah), who had broken his neck in April, rode Bison (JD Nix Rodeo Co.) for 86 points to put the team up 163.50 – 0. Rafael Henrique Dos Santos (Sebastianopolis, Brazil), three for his last five coming into Saturday night, added to the Outlaws’ lead in the top of the fourth frame. Matched with Sammy (Dorman/Weaver/Hilton Bull Co), Dos Santos collected 87.5 points to clinch the win for the Outlaws. As the opening game of the night drew to a close, the Missouri Thunder looked for their first qualified ride. Colten Fritzlan (Rifle, Colorado) was determined to put a score on the board but earned a re-ride opportunity. In a stunning decision, since the game was already decided, bull riding is the world’s most dangerous organized sport, and Fritzlan is the Outlaws’ franchise player, he was chosen to attempt Dr. X (Universal Pro Rodeo/Pepper/Freeman Cattle Co) on the re-ride. Fritzlan was unsuccessful, bucked off at a hard-fought 6.81 seconds. The Kansas City Outlaws (5-7) will look to win their second game in Austin on Sunday night when they face the Arizona Ridge Riders (8-4). The Missouri Thunder (7-5) will attempt to rebound from the frustrating scoreless loss against the Oklahoma Freedom (4-8).

AUSTIN, Texas – In a battle between two winning teams from night one of PBR Gambler Days, the Carolina Cowboys parlayed rides in the first and third frames into their seventh win of the 2022 PBR Team Series season, edging the Oklahoma Freedom 175-84.5. Fan favorite Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas), who made his season debut on Friday night, rode with heart and try to put the Oklahoma Freedom first on the board with 84.5 points on Mad Child (Joe & Nina Webb/BS Cattle). In the bottom of the first, Ramon De Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) immediately answered for the Carolina Cowboys in a rematch on Bobkat (Bob Whisnant/Shaw Cattle Co/Hilton Bull Co). Lima was scored 85.75 points to give the Cowboys a 1.25-point lead. After a scoreless second frame, the Freedom’s Deklan Garland (Foster, Oklahoma) faced Choctaw Bingo (TNT Bingo) and was bucked off the powerful, twisting bull in 5.62 seconds. In the bottom of the third frame, Boudreaux Campbell (Crockett, Texas) dominated Razzmatazz (M Rafter E/High View Cattle) on a textbook ride for a huge 89.5 points to give the Cowboys a 175-84.5 lead, which stood up when Derek Kolbaba (Walla Walla, Washington) and Eli Vastbinder (Statesville, North Carolina) both failed to make the 8 for the Freedom. The Carolina Cowboys (7-5) will seek their third game win in Austin on Sunday afternoon as they take on the host and league No. 1 team Austin Gamblers (9-3). The Kansas City Outlaws (5-7) will attempt to rebound when they play the surging Arizona Ridge Riders (8-4).

AUSTIN, Texas – In a battle totaling seven qualified bull rides, the Arizona Ridge Riders survived a furious comeback by Nashville Stampede to win Game 3 in Austin on Saturday night, 344.25-258. Undrafted free agent Alisson de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) started off the game riding Newsom (BS Cattle Co/TM Cattle/Twisted Horns) for 84.75 points to put the Ridge Riders on the board. With the Stampede unable to answer in the first frame, Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil), who was four for his last five coming into the night, added to the Ridge Riders’ lead. Aparecido flew off Apple Butter (JR Phillips) at the 8-second mark but valiantly hung onto his bull rope for a qualified ride and score of 88.25 points. After two scoreless outs, Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma) looked to be the first rider to get the momentum going for the Nashville Stampede midway through the game, but when his bull wouldn’t cooperate in the chutes, he earned a re-ride opportunity scheduled for later in the game. The Ridge Riders’ Ross Freeman (Kountze, Texas) then fought hard for the 8 on Gold Chain (Young Cattle Co) for 87 points, putting Arizona up 260 – 0. While the Stampede still had three outs remaining, the Ridge Riders’ first-round draft pick Luciano De Castro (Guzolandia, Brazil) had an opportunity to seal the win by putting his team up four bulls. With clock moving, Castro made an explosive exit out of the chute, earning 84.5 points on I’m No Angel (Cooper/Scruggs Bucking Bulls) to make the score 344.25 – 86.25, sealing the win for the surging Ridge Riders. Dirteater made the best of his re-ride, in perfect time to cover Shakira (JR Phillips) for 84.75 points, cutting the Ridge Riders’ lead to 344.25 – 171. With one out left for the Stampede, Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) was perfectly centered on Bread Basket (TNT Bucking Bulls) for 87 points. The Stampede’s three consecutive qualified rides to end the game were not enough to catch the Ridge Riders, who won by a score of 344.25 – 258. The Arizona Ridge Riders (8-4) will look to continue the momentum Sunday, seeking their third consecutive win when they take on the Kansas City Outlaws (5-7). The Nashville Stampede (3-9) will look to win their first game this weekend when they play the Ariat Texas Rattlers (3-9).

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 1 Austin Gamblers again looked virtually unstoppable in putting up three qualified rides to defeat the No. 8 Ariat Texas Rattlers in the final game of Saturday night’s PBR Team Series Gambler Days. Starting off the game was Ariat Texas Rattlers’ Joao Ricardo Vieira (Itatinga, Brazil), who earned a re-ride opportunity later in the game. Bringing in a 4-for-4 streak when leading off for the Gamblers, Ezekiel Mitchell (Rockdale, Texas), once again put his team on the scoreboard in the first frame on Gangster Bones (TNT Bucking Bulls). Mitchell was marked 79.75 points, but Head Coach Michael Gaffney turned down the re-ride opportunity to go up one bull on the Rattlers. Four scoreless outs would make up the third and fourth frames. Entering the fifth frame, the Ariat Texas Rattlers looked to earn their first qualified ride of the night. Brady Oleson (Blackfoot, Idaho) took to the chutes against Do Dat Eddie (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell), but was quickly bucked off after a short 1.26 seconds and would later earn the opportunity to ride again. With two re-rides on deck for the Rattlers, the Gamblers looked to keep the lead and quickly responded with an 85-point ride from Griffin Smeltzer (Claresholm, Canada) on Iron Side (Universal Pro Rodeo). Entering the fourth frame, with the score at 164.95-0, a fire was lit inside the Texas Rattlers, eager take on their cross-state rivals in their home arena. 47-year old Ednei Caminhas (Indaiatuba, Brazil) dominated bovine opponent War Daddy (TNT Bucking Bulls) for 85.25 points, and the Rattlers were down only one bull. Up next for the Gamblers was No. 1 draft pick Jose Vitor Leme (Ribas do Rio Pardo, Brazil). Exploding out of the chutes, Leme rode Ninja Cowboy (Universal Pro Rodeo) for a solid 88 points, making the score 252.95 – 82.25. With the Gamblers still up two bulls, Vieira prepared for the Rattlers’ first re-ride opportunity and crucial ride aboard Twisted Feather (Blake Sharp/Michael Flord/Cain Kobert). He was bucked off at 2.35 seconds, securing the Gamblers the win. With one re-ride remaining, Oleson conquered Chanler’s Mule (Universal Pro Rodeo) for 83.25 points, making the final score 252.75-168.5. The Gamblers remain unbeaten in their home arena and have now won eight games in a row, a league record. As Gambler Days continues, the Austin Gamblers (9-3) will look to keep the top spot with their third consecutive win when they take on the Carolina Cowboys (7-5). The Ariat Texas Rattlers (3-9) will look to have their first win when they play the Nashville Stampede (3-9).

About the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series:

The PBR Team Series is an elite new league that will feature the world’s top bull riders competing on teams in five-on-five bull riding games during an 11-event season beginning in July and culminating in a team championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas November 4-6.  During the 2022 season, each of the eight teams representing teams in Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Glendale, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Nashville, TN; Oklahoma City, OK; Ridgedale, MO; and Winston-Salem, NC will host a three-day homestand.  There will also be neutral site games in Cheyenne, WY and Anaheim, CA. To determine team rosters, the league held a rider draft on May 23 prior to start of the 2022 season among any bull riders who have declared for the draft during a league eligibility window. The PBR Team Series builds on the existing structure of professional bull riding with the same basic rules for judging and scoring qualified 8-second bull rides. Events will be staged in a tournament-style format with all teams competing in head-to-head matchups against a different opponent each day. Each game will feature five riders per team squaring off against another team. Full team rosters will be comprised of seven riders on the core roster and three practice squad members. The team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders will be declared the winner of each game. The event winner will be the team with the most game wins across an event, with a special bonus round designed as a tie-breaker to determine final event standings. All PBR Team Series events will be carried on either the CBS Television Network, streaming live on Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, or RidePass on Pluto TV.
