New single “When I Fly” out now
Just announced, Jessica Lavallee will be opening for, fellow coaster, turned Ontarian, Séan McCann at this summer’s Tall Ships Festival being held in her hometown of Brockville, Ontario.
“I am looking forward to opening for Séan McCann in June. I’ve been a big fan of his and Great Big Sea since I was a kid. I’ll be singing some of my original music along with some good old Celtic tunes. Music that tells us stories of the sea and life on the coast. Feeling right at home with The Tall Ships!!!”
Séan McCann (the Shantyman) is a founder of the iconic Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea. His new album SHANTYMAN is a rollicking return to his own maritime roots and an invigorating breath of salty sea air to help shake off the negative effects of social isolation.
You can catch Jessica on the main stage at the Tall Ships Festival, on Blockhouse Island, immediately before Séan McCann all three days of the festival.

About Jessica Lavallee
Born on the northern reaches of Newfoundland and Labrador, Jessica Lavallee was raised in the remote village of Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon on the lower north shore of Quebec, an area unique to the province due to its proximity to Newfoundland and Labrador, and Canada’s east coast.
Jessica’s love and natural ear for music began when she was just two years old years while listening to her father – also a musician – play the guitar, fiddle, accordion, and harmonica. Jessica made her initial debut at six years old with her father’s band, playing in a local festival in Labrador close to home.
Jessica has travelled the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador playing local venues and on board an American cruise ship when it set ashore. A graduate of the Music Industry and Performance program at the College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville, NL, Jessica was twice featured on Canadian Idol and made top ten on Country Music Television’s Karaoke Star.
Jessica’s first single of 2022, “Small Town Girl”, has been streamed over 5000 times and just hit #1 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown. Her latest single, “When I Fly”, is available everywhere now.

About the Brockville Tall Ship® Festival
The tall ships festival will return to THE Brockville waterfront in 2022! The festival will be the first in this year’s series taking place from June 24-26. Brockville takes part in the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Great Lakes Series which takes place in the St. Lawrence region every three years and Brockville has been taking part since 2013.
Tall ships, including Brockville’s own “Fair Jeanne”, and other watercraft line the waterfront and the harbour while entertainment and vendors will be set up on land. Admission to the grounds to see these majestic ships is available with a $10 wristband for all three days, while deck tours of the ships will be available by purchasing a Festival Passport for $15 in advance (or $20 at the gate) which grants each passport holder access to each ship one time (deck tours are available on Saturday and Sunday only). The passport has details on each participating ship and will be stamped after each tour, making it a great take home souvenir from the event.
