Recorded in the heart of New Orleans with Grammy award-winning producer Greg Magers (Umphrey’s McGee, Maggie Rose, Lupe Fiasco, and spoken word Grammy-winner J. Ivy), “The Guide” blends the raw grit of the Crescent City with Fimone’s signature fusion of country, blues, and rock. More than just a song, “The Guide” serves as an anthem of self-reliance and empowerment, daring listeners to become their own saviors.

“’The Guide‘ isn’t about someone outside yourself who can guide you, it IS you. You ARE the guide. Trust yourself,” said Fimone.

The song’s lyrics were born from Fimone’s deep dive into the life of Norma Wallace, a legendary figure who once ran the last brothel in New Orleans. As Fimone unraveled Norma’s story, they felt an unexpected kinship, turning Norma’s life into a muse. The result? A stirring reminder that no one else is responsible for our rescue—only we hold that power.

“All I need from you is for you to just hold out your hand / Have a little trust in something you might not yet quite understand/ Where you’re coming from and where you’re going to/ Are different worlds,” Fimone sings, embracing the unknown with an unflinching belief in herself.

“The Guide” is featured on Fimone’s upcoming EP “Fascination“, set for release on Oct. 25, 2024.
