NASHVILLE, TN – (May 30, 2025) – “Small Town Nights, the new release by Americana, Rock, and Country artist Dan Ashley, is available today on all digital music platforms. “Small Town Nights” tells the story of coming of age in a simpler time. Long before the internet, social media, and even cable TV, life moved at a different pace and with a different rhythm. A night out on the town with a date or friends on a Saturday meant cruising Main Street in your dad’s car and a movie at the local theater. The nostalgic single, co-written by Dan Ashley and Bill Bentley, is available now for streaming HERE

The official video with visual storytelling and nostalgic charm was produced by Ryland Knight and co-edited by Bill Bentley in support of the new song and is available today on the artist’s official YouTube Channel

“I wanted to write a song that reflected my high school experiences growing up in a small college town in North Carolina”, says singer and songwriter Dan Ashley. “But, much more than that, this is a song that reflects the same joys, pressures, and questions that teenagers still ask and face today.” He says. “In so many ways, a kid’s life today is made a lot more complicated by all of the distractions and pressures that the internet creates, but that shouldn’t rob them of the simple pleasures of being young.” This song celebrates those ideals.

“There aren’t a lot of old-fashioned storytellers of this strain actively recording and playing gigs in the American underground these days.”– Indieshark.com

“Rolling down main street windows down low
Radio blasting got nowhere to go
Same old bars same faces
Can’t help dreamin’ about brand new places

My roots run deep in this dusty land
It’s here I’ll stay make my final stand
Cause I’m a small town, hard luck, hard rockin’ man

Small town nights
That’s who I am
Small town nights
Like Jack and Diane

Small town nights
Give me those small town nights
Wild and free
Living every moment you and me

Drive past the diner where we used to meet
Stay out late, two hearts one beat
We all got dreams we’re trying to chase
But there’s something here I can’t replace…”

“Small Town Nights” was produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Bill Bentley and recorded at Bill Bentley Productions with Bill Bentley (guitar, bass, and BGV).
