WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – With their debut homestand just days away, the Oklahoma Freedom continued to ride red-hot, knocking off the league No. 3 Austin Gamblers as PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series competition continued Saturday evening in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Following a scoreless first frame, both the Freedom and Gamblers were keen to reverse their fortunes in the second. First up was Austin Richardson (Dallas, Texas) for the Gamblers, but he failed to reach the 8, brought down in 3.16 seconds by Alter Ego (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling). After the scoreboard remain unchanged in the third, despite a close call for Freedom rider Casey Roberts (Munford, Alabama), who was ultimately determined to have bucked off YETI’s Big Poison (Cowtown Rodeo) in a close 7.51 seconds, the game intensified in the fourth. First to deliver a score for the Gamblers, Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil) conquered Chickasaw (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling) for 83.25 points, putting the Gamblers within 3.5 points of tying the Freedom. After Freedom Captain Eli Vastbinder (Statesville, North Carolina) bucked off to close the fourth, it came down to newly-inked Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil) for the Gamblers and Chase Outlaw (Hamburg, Arkansas) for the Freedom. With neither rider able to make the 8, the Freedom eked out the win 86.75-83.25 against the Gamblers. The Freedom have now won three consecutive games, while the Gamblers have lost three-straight. Following the game, the Oklahoma Freedom have improved to 7-8, while the Gamblers have slipped to 9-6. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In a game during which each team went 3-for-5, covering 60% of their bovine athlete opponents, the Missouri Thunder held off a late surge by the Nashville Stampede to register their first game win during the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 252.25-246.75. From the moment the first chute gate burst open, the battle between the two teams was ferocious. As the lead off rider for the Thunder, Andrew Alvidrez (Seminole, Texas) was first to convert, covering Savage (Blake Sharp/Michael Floyd/High Voltage Cattle) for 83.75 points. The Stampede, however, were quick to respond, concluding the first within 2.5 points of the event lead as 2018 PBR World Champion Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) rode Air Dippin (Wagoner Ranch/Rowdy Rein Ranch) for 81.25 points. The Thunder continued to ride red-hot in the top of the second, as Adriano Salgado (Batatais, Brazil) added 84.25 points to his team’s lead when he conquered Modified Hou (Cowtown Rodeo). While the game began with three consecutive rides, the Stampede were the first to misstep, concluding the second round of outs with a buckoff when Ryan Dirteater (Hulbert, Oklahoma) was dispatched in a hard-fought 7.48 seconds by Smooth Steel (Flying C/Flying P Bucking Bulls). As the third got underway, surging Aussie Callum Miller (Warwick, Queensland, Australia) was unable to continue the Thunder’s momentum, logging the team’s first buckoff when he was sent to the dirt in 2.05 seconds by Spice (Flying C/Flying P Bucking Bulls). Taking advantage of the stumble, the Nashville Stampede inched within 2.25 points of the lead as Matt Triplett (Canton, South Dakota) closed out the third with a game-best 84.5-point ride atop Red Redemption (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling). With just two outs remaining for each team, Cody Teel (College Station, Texas) righted the ship for the Thunder, expanding his team’s lead to 86.5 points when he reached the requisite 8 aboard Coy Dog (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling) for 84.25 points. The back-and-forth exchange of scores, however, came to an end in the bottom of the fourth when Thiago Salgado (Navirai, Brazil) proved no match for Whiz (Flying C/Flying P Bucking Bulls), bucked off in 4.24 seconds. After the see-saw game, the fate of the Thunder and Stampede, both of which lost on the opening night of PBR Cowboy Days, came down to the fifth. First up was the Thunder’s closer, Colten Fritzlan (Rifle, Colorado). With the chance to clinch the game win, Fritzlan failed to capitalize, bucked off by Homer (JR Phillips) in a quick 2.37 seconds. Consequentially, for the third time this season, three-time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves (Pilar do Sul, Brazil) was in the position to deliver a walk-off win for his team. Initially matched with Bart (Cowtown Rodeo), Alves reached the whistle, but the 64-point trip was awarded a re-ride. Needing 86.75 points to win, the Stampede took the re-ride, with Alves next tasked with Sugar Boom Boom (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G). While Alves remained in control despite a late direction change, his 8 seconds of work were awarded just 81 points, short of what was needed to earn the win. When the dust settled, the Missouri Thunder earned their first win inside LJVM Coliseum as they defeated the Nashville Stampede 252.25-246.75. The Missouri Thunder are now 8-7 this season, while the Nashville Stampede slipped to 3-12. During the final round of games for PBR Cowboy Days on Sunday, September 11, the Missouri Thunder will look to continue their winning ways when they play the Texas Rattlers, presented by Ariat, while the Nashville Stampede will look to snap their six-game losing streak when they take on the host Carolina Cowboys.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Despite a late-game surge from the Texas Rattlers, presented by Ariat, the Kansas City Outlaws emerged supreme, earning their second game win during PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, 171-167.5. After both teams failed to convert in the first, the scoreboard underwent its first change in the second. Following a buckoff for the Rattlers from 2002 PBR World Champion Ednei Caminhas (Indaiatuba, Brazil), the Outlaws were the first to strike when Marcus Mast (Middlebury, Indiana) rode Red Scorpion (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 85 points. The Outlaws and Rattlers were then both blanked in the third, however, the game intensity ratcheted up in the fourth. In the top of the frame, Rafael Jose de Brito (Potirendaba, Brazil) was awarded a re-ride after his trip with Codigo (Fabulous IV Ranch/Josh & Dalton Walling) was marked just 70.5 points. Opting to take the re-ride, Cody Lambert elected to have Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland) attempt the second-chance bull, Oreo (Dustin Denning). In the bottom of the fourth, the Outlaws pulled ahead to 171 points as second-round draft pick Kyler Oliver (Roy, Utah) rode Tiger (Blake Sharp/Henry Wilson) for 86 points. As the fifth got underway, the Rattlers were in a must-ride position, needing scores from both their closer Junior Patrik Souza (Sonora, Brazil), and re-ride rider Fielder, to keep their hopes of victory alive. Rising to the occasion, Souza covered Mongo (Flying C/Flying P Bucking Bulls) for 80.75 points to keep the Rattlers in contention for the win. Before the Outlaws would attempt their final bull, the Rattlers settled their unfinished business as Fielder climbed aboard re-ride bull Oreo. Needing in excess of 90.25 points to put his team in the lead, while Fielder reached the whistle, he was marked just 86.75 points, handing the Outlaws the win. With Kansas City’s final trip ending in a buckoff, the final scoreboard read a 171-167.5 victory for the J.W. Hart-led team. The Kansas City Outlaws not only improved to a perfect 2-0 at PBR Cowboy Days inside LJVM Coliseum but also rose to 7-8 on the season. Marking their second loss in Winston-Salem, the Texas Rattlers are now 4-11 throughout the 2022 season. During their final game in North Carolina, the Outlaws will look to remain perfect when they take on the Oklahoma Freedom, who are also undefeated, while the Rattlers will seek their first victory of the event when they play the Missouri Thunder.

The Cowboys, however, were unable to add to their diminished 2-point lead in the bottom of the frame when Boudreaux Campbell (Crockett, Texas) was bested by Chili Pepper (Lucas Manning Bucking Bulls) in a quick 2.77 seconds. As the game approached the mid-way point, the Ridge Riders stumbled, with Vitor Losnake (Bauru, Brazil) bucking off, while the Cowboys regained their winning form, growing their lead to 85.25 points when Mason Taylor (Maypearl, Texas) conquered Bobtail Bob (Blake Sharp) for 83.25 points. After both teams bucked off in the fourth, the game came down to the fifth, with the Arizona Ridge Riders in a must-ride position at the top of the frame. About the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Team Series:
The PBR Team Series is an elite new league that features the world’s top bull riders competing on teams in five-on-five bull riding games during an 11-event season beginning in July and culminating in a team championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas November 4-6. During the 2022 season, each of the eight teams representing teams in Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Glendale, AZ; Kansas City, MO; Nashville, TN; Oklahoma City, OK; Ridgedale, MO; and Winston-Salem, NC will host a three-day homestand. There will also be neutral site games in Cheyenne, WY and Anaheim, CA. To determine team rosters, the league held a rider draft on May 23 prior to start of the 2022 season among any bull riders who have declared for the draft during a league eligibility window. The PBR Team Series builds on the existing structure of professional bull riding with the same basic rules for judging and scoring qualified 8-second bull rides. Events will be staged in a tournament-style format with all teams competing in head-to-head matchups against a different opponent each day. Each game will feature five riders per team squaring off against another team. Full team rosters will be comprised of seven riders on the core roster and three practice squad members. The team with the highest aggregate score of qualified rides among its riders will be declared the winner of each game. The event winner will be the team with the most game wins across an event, with a special bonus round designed as a tie-breaker to determine final event standings. All PBR Team Series events will be carried on either the CBS Television Network, streaming live on Paramount+, CBS Sports Network, or RidePass on PlutoTV.
