Just over a year after Appelman’s debut on the Canadian country music scene and just a few short months after suffering serious injuries in a car accident, that almost ended her career before it started, one of the most promising newcomers of 2022 is back with a power new single “Not Gonna Hurt”.

Written by a powerhouse trio of Canadian songwriters, Lydia Sutherland, Rich Cloke and Aaron Pollock, “Not Gonna Hurt” is one of those songs that stings harder than a shot of tequila, without the lime. It reminds you that even after all the time that has passed, it’s okay not to be okay. The song reminded Appelman of a love that had to leave her life unexpectedly, so when she heard it, she felt that universal feeling of love lost.

“I wanted to record it because I’ve been there and had just been there when I chose to record it. It was a song, for me, it helped me get through the heartbreak by being honest about where I was at.”
