As he gears up to grace the screen once again in the eagerly awaited March 15 theatrical release of the feature film The Neon Highway, Mayes combines his prowess in both music and acting for the big screen.
This highly anticipated movie features a stellar cast starring the award-winning actor and country artist Rob Mayes opposite Emmy®, Golden Globe, and GRAMMY® winner Beau Bridges, the talented Sam Hennings, GRAMMY® and CMA winner Pam Tillis, and Curb recording artist Lee Brice.
In The Neon Highway, Mayes not only shines as an actor but also showcases his musical talents, performing two songs: “Dirt In My Life” (written by Chris Janson, Dallas Davidson, & Tommy Cecil, slated for release March 22nd) and the original “My Heart Is Bleeding.” These tracks, along with the title song “The Neon Highway,” are featured on the film’s soundtrack, set to be released by Curb Records.
Additionally, Mayes is gearing up for the release of another original composition, “Still Got My Key,” co-penned by Mayes alongside Craig Wiseman (“Standing Room Only,” “Live Like You Were Dying”), which is scheduled to debut on April 5th.
Renowned for his versatility, Rob Mayes has garnered acclaim for his work in various film and television projects. From his role in the Sundance cult classic, “John Dies at the End” to his captivating portrayal in “A Soldier’s Revenge,” which earned him the Best Actor award at the 2020 Wild Bunch Film Festival, Mayes continues to impress audiences with his talent and dedication. Not only is he a talented actor, but Mayes’ musical abilities have also earned him accolades, including being a finalist and semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and a finalist in the USA Songwriting Competition.
Later this year, Mayes will appear in the dramatic comedy Lost & Found in Cleveland.
