(Nashville, Tenn. – November 18, 2022) Alabama native, Josh Kinney is releasing a tribute song to hometowns today. Listeners can now stream the single worldwide on all streaming platforms here.
Composed by Kinney and Stokes Nielson, “Never Wanna Leave” paints a picture for listeners from small towns full of bonfires, Friday nights with friends, romance, and truck rides through the countryside. The lyrics showcase Kinney’s love for Alabama but are relatable to all audiences who grew up in small, characteristic hometowns.
Kinney elaborates on the single, “Never Wanna Leave” is a heartfelt song about hometowns. It’s made for fans to be able to reminisce about all the good times they’ve had and all the good people that they grew up with in those places. The mood is a warm, feel good type song; which includes an old school country music vibe that meets fresh, young lyrics.”
Signed to Los Angeles-based record label, Birmingham Entertainment, Josh Kinney has turned his life story full of family, being raised in a house with 9 siblings, 3 of which were adopted through foster care, and small town baseball games into music that touches souls. What started out as writing songs at 14 has now turned into working with producer Jimmy Ritchey (known for his work with Sam Hunt & Jake Owen) and Alabama-based A&R exec Johnny Wilson.
Kinney’s music hits both country and pop audiences with its Florida Georgia Line and Khalid influences. However, there’s one theme that all listeners, fans of both pop and country, can relate to and that is the love of music and family on a small town Saturday night. Kinney’s previous video/single releases include “Barefoot Green Grass,” “Southland,” and “Ocean.”
In addition to “Never Wanna Leave,” Kinney recently released a fun breakup single, “I Found” and has been performing in Alabama and Tennessee. For more information on touring and announcements, visit the website or follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and/or Twitter.
